The best brand is a matter of personal preference. In general, you want to pick a shingle that's rated high enough to withstand both the wind and the precipitation levels that are common in your area. If your part of California doesn't get a lot of wind, you probably don't need a Class H shingle, but you shouldn't get the cheapest shingle either....Read More

It really depends on how old your roof is and what condition it's in. Probably best to get advice from a roofing contractor. If your roof is too old or in bad condition, then you'll need to get a new roof or look into installing the solar panels somewhere else on your property....Read More
