I have never written about a doctor good or bad before, but I feel that anyone in need of a Urologist SHOULD NOT go to Dr. Dinlenc. My story with this doctor is too long to tell, but to sum it up. He was rude, he made me feel like I was annoying him if I had a question, he did not return my call when I was in terrible pain, and he lied to me about the length of time my stint needed to stay in. He told my boyfriend right after my surgery that the stint needed to stay in for 2 weeks and then he later realized he would be away that week and insisted that I needed to have it in me for 3 weeks. Imagine a doctor keeping a foreign object in your body for an extra week while he goes on vacation? My body rejected the stint and I got so sick, weak, and was in so much pain and this man would not return my call. I ended up having another doctor in his department remove the stint. Be smarter than I was and go to any other Urologist. There are many good and kind doctors out there, Dr. Dinlenc is not one of them.
During a routine sonogram when I was 20 weeks pregnant, my OB-GYN saw a mass near my right kidney. Needless to say I was frightened for myself and my unborn child. My doctor sent me to Dr. Stifelman who was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. His pleasant smile and demeanor calmed me even when the biopsy revealed that the tumor was malignant. Dr. Stifelman carefully monitored the tumor during my pregnancy. Thank God it remained stable and I was able to deliver a healthy full term baby. After a few weeks, Dr. Stifelman performed a radical nephrectomy, removing the right kidney and the tumor. His expertise as a robotic surgeon put me at ease and the surgery was successful. I'm so thankful that everything worked out so well and I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to Dr. Stifelman.
In March 2015 I had a CT scan where a renal mass was inadvertently found on my left kidney. The tumor was thought to be malignant. My physician immediately suggested I make an appointment to see Dr. Stifelman at NYU. I thought to see Dr. Stifelman and then make a second appointment with a doctor nearer my home. After the consultation meeting with Dr. Stifelman my family and I quickly decided there was no need to see anyone else as he was hands down the top of the top. Not only was he an expert in his field but a compassionate, personable and caring professional. Dr Stifelman was able to perform a partial nephrectomy saving half of my kidney as the mass originally thought to be malignant turned out to be benign! I was truly blessed not only for the diagnosis but for finding Dr. Stifelman....the best of the best!!! The entire staff in Dr. Stifelman's office...Enioca, Diane, Leticia and all we encountered were exceptional! My family and I are forever grateful for this amazing doctor and his entire team!
The previous message is not an accurate report of the events. The issue was caused by problems in the building. This unfortunately was beyond our control and yes it did delay patients' appointment, for which an apology was given to the patient. Dr. Valenzuela makes every attempt to see his patients as scheduled or within 15-30 min of arrival (provided the patient is prepared and bring the required documents). There are several doctors in the office therefore all the patients are not there to see one provider. Even if the waiting room is full, all efforts are made to see patients as scheduled. Unfortunately patients tend to show up 1-2 hours before their appointment. This gives the impression the doctor is running behind schedule. Every so often additional time is dedicated to one patient this may delay other visits. That courtesy is extended across to all of our patients. Thank you,Ana E VasquezWashington Heights UrologyPractice Manager
