Hosted a birthday party on the mezzanine level with about 25 guests. Everything went as expected. We brought our own cupcakes and cake, they provided the bottles and hors d'oeuvres. Sure there is a cake cutting fee (to be expected in NYC), but they did cut the cake quite well. The music this evening was pretty good. Some 90's hip-hop/reggae mixed in with some contemporary beats kept us dancing, bumping and if you're too cool, head nodding.
Our server, the lovely Dee Dee, was great to work with. Despite a longer than expected start on the initial wave of hors d'oeuvres, she kept up with the drink orders, kept us tipsy and seemed pleasant throughout. Patrycja, the hostess, was very pleasant to deal with as well. After a minor hookah mishap, things kept right on rolling and we were comped with another, no problems.
I would definitely come back as a civilian (not as the party host) so I could get as hammered as my guests were that evening!

Came here last weekend for my girlfriends graduation celebration…The food was pretty good, the service-not bad either...
We had a good table that was comfortable for our large party. We went later in the evening knowing that it turns into a club. Our folks were in for a surprise because they weren’t prepared for the restaurant to go full scale club toward the end of our late dinner (10:15pm or so).
My gf and our friends partied till the early morning. Good times.

Storm PR Agency & I recently organized an event for NBC's new reality show ""The Great American Health Challenge NYC"" and I decided to contact Taj Lounge via my A good friend. I always loved Taj Lounge but I never hosted and event there. I must say, I am glad I chose this venue. They ambiance is incredible. Their Asian inspired decor sets the mood just right. When you walk in it is obvious that the staff loves the venue just as much as the people they tend to daily. The management was very attentive and made sure that every detail of my plan was executed precisely. I have coordinated and hosted many events and this was by far the best event to date. Taj lounge was even gracious enough to help me find a liquor sponsor for my event. It doesn't get much better than that. If you are looking to make a good impression and have a successful event at a classy manhattan lounge...... I would definitely suggest working with Taj lounge. I am getting ready to work with them again real soon! If you would like to see pictures of my event for NBC please review my pictures on FaceBook by searching for Walter Lucky Church Simons. Have a wonderful day.

l love Taj lounge because the simply have the best deals on bottles in comparison to other venues. my friends and i booked with them to celebrate our graduation and they offered us 2 bottles of Ciroc for $350 including tax and gratuity. I personally thought that was bomb b/c 1 bttle alone was 375; and the best part of all was that they let us select the Ciroc flavors which usually cost more. The bottle host were soo cute they were dressed up and brought us sparklers, i loved it, i loved it, i loved it!

Visit on 1/22/11. Came for friends birthday party, had to wait for 10 minutes or so outside, twenty dollar cover, mandatory coat check and pat down.
Staff is reasonable, coat check is painfully slow. Drinks are expensive, but no more so than other nyc clubs, if anything somewhat less.
Music is terrible. DJ apparently never learned how to transition from one song to the next, half a minute of silence between each song, almost like the guy was using cassette tapes. Acoustics were terrible, my ears are still ringing the next day.
Bottom line: Go somewhere else, your ears and wallet will thank you.

I had a great time here tonight. It was officially my second time being spent here. The first time a friend of mine was performing here after I received some bad news, so unfortunately, I didn't get to enjoy the full experience that time.
I came here tonight to celebrate the DVD Release of the movie I'm in, ""The Big Shot Caller"". I must say that the service was good, there were no problems at the door after making things clear of who I was and that I was on the list.
I would say that this place attracts a positive crowd that purely wants to have a good time and dance; maybe also share meaningful conversation, but most of all MOVE. It isn't one of those places that you have to worry about people rubbing up on you and feeling nasty and sweaty. The decor is great and surprises you since it doesn't ""seem"" like much from the outside. The bouncers were very nice and informative instead of the ""I'm in charge"" types.
I give this place an A to an A+. Great live music w/ Willy Torres and nice people! Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the food since I was so busy on the dancefloor...but I take that as a good sign!

I must say, that I love Taj, I have the best time everytime I go. If you are thinking about throwing a party you have to contact ED/NorthernStarEvents. I have been to clubs where you make a reservation and you get there and they act like they don't know who you are. Well not with ED, the first time I went to Taj was for my birthday, and I went back for Holloween, I am having another party there for with ED as the promoter. Thanks again NorthernStarEvents.

I'm not a club person. At all. I can count the amount of times I've been to a club on one hand and still have a few fingers left over. So I'll preface my review with that.
Being said, Taj wasn't as bad as I expected. We got there around 10:30 on a saturday night. Was empty inside initially and we didn't have to pay the cover. About an hour later the place was packed and there was a line otuside. Nice. Fun atmosphere. A bit small, but they made sure it didn't get overcrowded. The DJ does play a lot of 90's stuff as a few others have mentioned, but as the night went on there was some more current stuff played. Drinks are overpriced, but you expect it from a hot place like this in this city.
Am I suddenly going to become a clubber? no. But a place like this a surprisingly good time every so often.

I know this place has had some mixed reviews, but I went here for a going away party celebration and did not have to worry about the main things that may discredit a good review.
1.The line: If you are on a guest list you don't have to worry about the line, so make sure you know people.
2. The cover: Since the party was booked, we did not have to pay a cover
3. The crowd: The club was already packed by 11:30, so make sure you get there before midnight. There was a mix of races, mainly early to late twenty age range. About 2-3 male female ratio
4. The AC: They made sure to have the air on full blast, so I was not sweaty nor had to worry about funky body odor.
5. The Music: My only complaint was that there was not enough dancehall reggae. The DJ did a good job or old school, hip hop and krunk and pop, but the reggae and reggaeton were lacking.
6. The drinks: We had a bottle of grey goose and pineapple, cranberry and orange juice chasers, so I was able to make the drinks just the way I like it.
This is place is hot, a definite party spot !

Unlike the person before me i had an AMAZING bday at Taj! i googled nice lounges and went to Taj's website and really liked the room. i sent in a reservation and someone in the office got back to me in like 2days. I sat up dinner with my REAL friends at 8:30 on a saturday night. The food was really good. The lady manager came over and gave me and my girls a shot on the house because we had to wait for our table to be bussed b4 we could sit. Dinner was great tho! afterwards i had a guest list for other ppl that i didnt really want to have dinner with. They all came after dinner and i even got a comp champagne because i had like 20 or 25 ppl show. It was a really good bday! the dj said happy birthday alot too! The only thing is it does get a little crowded so next time i will def be getting a table. Other than that the dinner was great, staff very friendly, and drinks great. I will def be back soon :) thanks!

I contacted Premier List to organize a 30th birthday party for my fiancée. A representative suggested Taj Lounge as an appropriate venue. I received emails and was told in future conversations that men would be charged no cover charge if they arrived before 11 pm and female guests would receive free admission before 12am.The cover charge for guests arriving after 12 am was $20. I was also told that a table would be reserved for our party and the guest of honor and me would receive free admission at any time. I was told to inform guests that they should ask for Cassie, the door girl who represents their company at the lounge or ask for the premier list to ensure free or reduced admission. 3 female guests arrived at Taj Lounge at 11:45 pm and were told that admission was $25.I told her that the guests were unable to gain free admission and she claimed that no one asked for her. I contacted my friends and instructed them to ask for her and the premier list. I identified Cassie upon arrival. The other individual was a male representative of Taj Lounge. I again told her that guests had informed me that they had asked for her and she again declared that she had not been contacted by anyone. I asked her if I could identify my friends present on the line. She instructed me to get on the line. I joined my friends on the line. I informed the Taj Representative that I was on the premier list and my fiancée and I were supposed to get free admission with free admission for guests before 12 am. The Taj Representative informed me that admission was $25 and free admission was only an option with the purchase of bottle service. I asked him why wouldn't he honor the premier list offer and he responded that ""Promoters say what they want"". Cassie also responded as if free admission for me and my fiancée was ludicrous. My friends later informed me that they had actually spoken to Cassie directly and she chose to not acknowledge nor offer any assistance to guests who followed premier list's instructions.

I went here this past Saturday for dinner. The food was phenomenal and the liquor selection wasn't half bad either. The general manager was nice enough to buy my table's after dinner drinks which was very generous. The decor was also very warm and comfortable. Our table was in the corner and the seats were comfortable. The one drawback to this place was I guess at night it turns into a club or something and it sort of felt like they were itching for us to leave. The server informed us about the reservation policy with table turnover though so next time i'll make reservations instead of just stopping by. But overall I had a great time and the food was well worth the 10ish turnover time.
