Louisville bills itself as "America's Top City for Relocating Families." Its easily-accessible Metro Government operates from the Louisville Metro Hall, located at 527 W. Jefferson St., and houses many city departments for new and established residents to obtain the services they need.

Where to Go in Louisville

Louisville is home to what's been called "the most exciting two minutes in sports" - The Kentucky Derby - and it was here that the first, legendary slab of wood known to baseball aficionados as the Louisville Slugger was created.

But the Louisville area has all that and so much more to offer: the city sponsors its own ballet, orchestra, repertory theatre, opera, children's theater, and Shakespeare Festival.

Baseball fans can take in a game with the Louisville Bats, a Triple-A farm team for the Cincinnati Reds, or check out the world's biggest baseball bat at the Louisville Slugger Museum.

Things to Do in Louisville

The Louisville Slugger Museum and Churchill Downs are must-see excursions for Louisville residents and visitors alike.

Louisville is also rich in architectural history as well: Old Louisville is the third largest preservation district in the country and is filled with majestic Victorian treasures, all just south of downtown Louisville. Also don't miss the Louisville Zoo, or the Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve, where opportunities for outdoor activities abound.

Louisville has quite the nightlife as well, and lots of opportunities for you to see and be seen at popular night clubs including the Main Street Lounge, The Corner, or The Comedy Caravan.
