I thought I've had a real pre event sports-stretch/deep tissue massage before. Then I met Anthony from Energize Sports Massage earlier this year, and realized I've never really had a professional sports-stretch-Runners massage. I looked up Energize Sports Massage and saw one review on YELP which was made in 2006 and the neg. comment was a bitter woman was told this is a sports medicine for male athlete which myself & many pro athlete seeks. In Chicago & across the country, many sports massage therapist are only for women. I own a small business and YELP reviews are so fake, Just Some Heads Up. you have to pay them to receive positive reviews. Just food for thought if you have written positive reviews from other establishments and never see them . Always look at the date of the review and read reviews that was not publishment on line. Thank god i read others who have visited his establishment and gave Anthony positive five-four stars. I'm currently in Crossfit/Spinning training and woke up one morning with my hamstring/quads singing to me. Their song was one of exhaustion and a plea for some TLC. I made an appointment with Mr. Anthony (online scheduling is extremely easy) and was greeted by the extremely pleasant Mr.Reeves in his calming home studio office in Andersonville. After completeing the client information form, He took the time to sit down with me and genuinely listened to what I wanted. He made it clear that he was here for me, His professional& knowlwdge of the body muscle structure was- truly relaxing & appreciated! Very Professional, This guy knows his work being a former athlete of the ache, pains & muscle injuries. The actual massage was a slice of heaven. he has strong hands, good deep tissue for the I T bands & hip flexors. Sometimes painful, but painful in a "please-don't-stop-this-is-amazing" kind of a way. He is the only therapist that actually does the glutes muscle, deep tissue & elbow pressure, also the lower back, that is so important to any runner. He took the time to explain to me some of the intricacies of my body and made me feel very comfortable. I left feeling rejuvenated, rested, and and ready to take on the world. Days later and I'm still feeling the effects of Anthony work. My training/sports massage blend, I feel the positive affect, legs, lower back hamstrings feel great,I will be a regular customer in the future. Thanks!! Mario I

February 19, 2009 was the last time I saw him, I've been meaning to do this for him for some time now; he deserves the recognition and I truely believe he's offers the best massage in Chicago; maybe even in the country. I was really impressed by Bob's ability to find all the areas on my body that were achy or sore, some of them I wasn't really aware of until he started working in those areas. I felt so nurtured the entire time. The table was warm and the room was aglow with candle light and he had this great collection of music that just seemed to sync up with his strong nurturing WARM hands and carry me away above the clouds. I really felt like I was melting into the table, completely safe and in good hands. When it was over I wasn't rushed to leave and I was able to leisurely come back to the real world and get ready to take on the rest of my day with a renewed sense of energy and calmness. I highly recommend Bob to all those who really want an exceptional experience on the table. His hand and foot work is amazing along with the rest of my body needs. He worked on my neck and shoulders from both sides and I could really feel the tension leave my body. His touch is strong and nurturing all at the same time, I could feel my body letting him work deeper and deeper and I kept melting into the table. Nothing rough or clinical about his style yet I feel Bob get's more accomplished without me ever feeling like I was in some kind of physical therapy. When it was all said and done I felt like I could deal with the stressing aspects of life better for having invested time on Bob's table. I hope these words help others out there spend their hard earned monies well when it comes to finding a great masseur. Bob is one of those recession proof, essential type of expenses to keep in the budget. He Helps me survive. Thank You Bob! Sincerely, NAR
This is my third visit. I had a hamstring-Sciatica/strain issues this past spring, a runner of two years, I always suffered with hamstring /I T Band tightness. What stood out to me on my first visit is how professional knowledgeable he is in most sports, and how technical he was on explaining the benefits of runners massage & the issues on hamstring, I T Bands & quads muscle issues. Anthony tailored the sports-stretch massage to what I wanted, compared to most Chicago health club/spa places that give you a traditional basic-a-style-massage. My session began with Anthony warmly greeting me and then having me fill out a very well designed form with questions for customizing my massage. I've never seen questions like that for a massage and was pretty impressed. He then read my responses and we had a quick "pre-massage talk" to clarify what I wanted. The massage itself was excellent, Leg stretching, best I have had, pressure was excellent of the deep tissue/ trigger point, I left refreshed. I got a combination of Sports and deep tissue massage to open up some areas that were tight from my cross fit exercises. I was delighted that Anthony was familiar with cross fit and I felt that he knew exactly what I needed. He's also a fun person to talk with - Anthony has studied several sports massage techniques, done a good amount of traveling and he's a cyclist, positive attitude/ yoga mentor too. He let me take the lead with conversation, which I also appreciated since it allowed me to ask questions and have some quiet time too. He is a avid baseball & Black Hawk fan, The massage room at his condo, tranquill, relaxing, candlelight, music is so relaxing, my body went numb, I fell asleep after the session for a 1/2 hr. was not rushed. Excellent rates in a grreat area in the Andersonville neighborhood..
I've been using this guy for years and he's better than any other I've every been too. I'm under a lot of stress at work with all the financial markets in deep trouble; if it weren't for Bob, I'd be running around with a short fuse and not half as effective as I need to be to stay on top of my work. Bob is a natural healer, he has this talent to find every place on my body where i was sore or hurting without me having to say one word. He also finds all these other areas that I was not aware of prior to coming over. He uses pressure points, long and short strokes in combination to give me relief and total relaxation. He's respectfully works your entire body verses those phobic type of masseurs that stop at your lower back and pick back up at your knees. Bob's a true professional and healer. I feel really great and energized after getting off his table. I contracted for 60 min and I think I was on the table 70 or 75 min before the session was done. He's more concerned with getting results than he is about time. That's one other great attribute, he books a one hour session in a 2 hour window of time so that I never feel rushed. The music is great, the massage room is very comfortable and I got alot of value for my money. I'll keep coming back to see Bob, this guy is great. Thank you!!!!!!!!!! MJ
I had a wonderful experience with my friends in Aroma Spa. A friend recommended Aroma spa to me for their facial and massage packages. Then 5 of us decided to spend a day in Spa for relaxation. The facial was very refreshing and the massage was awesome. The massage therapist was well trained and she could find all my tight area on the whole body. I really loved it! I tried the Classic Facial last time and I think I will try Acne relief Facial next time because I got the acne problem. It was recommended by my co-worker. And surprisingly, they allowed us to bring wine and snack to chill there. I need to give a big thumb for this! It was worth to spend a day over there to give yourself a treat since we all have tough working days!
I have suffered from migraine headaches for the past two years and didn't think anything could be done about them. The last one was so painful that I decided to seek alternative treatment (meaning no drugs from the pill happy MD's). Dr. Creevy was extremely understanding and helpful. I got instant relief after my first treatment at Proper Balance Health & Wellness Center. I have been going to them for two months now and have not had a migraine since...I am forever indebted to Dr. Creevy and her staff at Proper Balance Health & Wellness Center!
Hands down, the best runners-stretch massage that I have gotten since I came to Chicago - Anthony does an amazing job. He is very careful to review any special areas or injuries that need attention before each session and then follows through during the massage. I have found that Anthony is able to provide the more deep tissue pressure and therapeutic massage that other therapists don't truly understand.Rates are very resonable, I highly recommend the Pkg specials if you are in serious training, Reserving on line is so easy
Aroma Spa is excellent, the facilities are very clean and well maintained. I now have been a client for 6 months. I did come in with back problems and muscle tightness. Cannot say enough about the quality of care received. My back problems are slowly but surely disappearing, so does the tightness of leg muscles. Kiki and her staff are very courteous and is interested in finding out what ails you and will work at it. I do highly recommend Aroma Spa!
This is a nice place - very professional and private.Someone recommended this place for a more deep tissue/pressure point massage....which I really like. I've been there three times now and it is great. I am a massage therapist so I really appreciate getting good therapeutic work done. The therapist is great at finding my tight areas and it has really been beneficial. However, I know they also do more Swedish relaxation massage also.
If you are looking for a wellness center look no further. Dr. Creevy and her staff will without a doubt fulfill your needs. With the latest equipment, knowledge and professionalism that Proper Balance Healthcare provides you will feel better in no time. I lost weight, changed my diet and have had little to no back pain since I have been treated by Dr. Creevy.
