Wow, we just had our 5th birthday party

Wow, we just had our 5th birthday party for my sons at Sunny Farms. It was great! We all love Mrs. Jane. She is wonderful with the children and always makes my boys feel so special. Everything is so organized & since she takes charge of all of the activities, I actually got to enjoy the party & visit with the other parents. The animals are all so gentle & the farm is nice & park like. (I especially liked that she didn't let a pushy mom take over my party with her ideas.) We will be back!

Take the negative reviews into account

I've never written a review but after reading the reviews here I felt compelled to say that Ms. Jane *is*, at best, ""no-nonsense"". I can totally see how people take her as rude (I certainly did at my son's birthday party there).

I feel that when you have a business dealing with people, and particulary children, you should go above and beyond to be friendly and nice.

She was definitely not friendly.

Like I said, I just wanted to affirm the other reviews since someone marked as ""unhelpful"" all the reviews saying that she's rude.

Fantastic, don't let the bad reviews fool you!

I hesitated after reading the negative reviews and I am so glad I went with my gut and gave Sunny Farms a chance. It is very clear when you receive the confirmation email that Miss Jane is very efficient and wants to get the most out of your visit. She also sent me a reminder email with the check list the week of our party. My daughters party was this evening, we arrived 30 minutes early. I quietly unpacked the car, loaded our things on the provided cart, and we waited on the bench as the other party was still going on. I did not get yelled at, we actually waited beyond our allotted time for the other party to leave. Our party included 6 children, 1 tween, and 2 teens. I rented 2 horses so that the kids would get plenty of turns and the adults took tons of photos while the staff paused for poses.

I really like her approach to giving presents, she has the children to bring their present to the birthday child one by one. Your child will not have to fight to open their own present and the child giving it gets to assist or read the card.
Miss Jane took my daughter to the side for horse petting time and really made her feel special. We were not told to leave at 6pm because I was the one rounding everyone up. Miss Jane was the perfect hostess even with her injured arm. I would think if she was rude we would get the brunt being the last party of the day.
If you want your children to run wild with no supervision and no structure then this may not be the place for you I would suggest Chuck E Cheese or Monkey Biz. Miss Jane does interact very well with humans that follow rules and listen. You must keep in mind you are at HER home where she works very hard and is generous enough to share it with us,she deserves praise and RESPECT.
Miss Jane, if you read this I cannot thank you enough for making this the most special birthday for my daughter!

And I never write reviews, but....

Honestly, the party was okay. The kids enjoyed the activites, but they started cleaning up 10 minutes before the party was over (I'm sorry, I thought we paid for a full 2 hours...) and then as we are walking out to the parking lot my children see an old fashioned tire swing. They get on, and the lady (Ms. Jane) comes out from behind the swing and says, ""Boys and girls, second time, go to your car the party ended at 3:00."" I looked at my watch. It was 3:03. Seriously? Wow. I was so insulted. I would never recommend this to anyone. Now I know why she lives with animals. She has no desire to interact with humans.

My children love Sunny Farms!

I have two children and we just had our 4th party at Sunny Farms this past weekend. I was reading through some of the reviews and Miss Jane is not rude. She knows what needs to be done and in order for you to have the most enjoyable experience in a 2 hour period, she must move along. If you do have a large group of kids, maybe you should schedule more time but we had 13 kids and 2 hours was plenty and all the kids absolutely loved it. If your child likes to be outside, likes animals, should experience it at least once.

Not only is Miss Jane NOT rude, she went out of her way and was very patient with my son who recently had an accident on a horse. He didn't want to ride but watched all of his friends ride. At the end of the party, she went and got the pony and my son rode it. She was really patient and I was almost in tears when I saw him climb on that pony.

Sunny Farms is awesome. Thanks Miss Jane!

# 1 with my daughter

This was our second experience at Sunny Farms, once as a party guest, and once as the Birthday Girl. Not only is the little farm delightful, but our family had never experienced a party like this. It was unique and fun. My daughter still talks about driving the tractor.

The lady who runs the place was cordial and safety oriented. No one at the party got hurt., despite being around tractors and horses. She was firm with a kid when he walked under the horse, but quite nice. Also, she explained the danger in walking behind or under a horse to the children. The party was adequately staffed.

Best of all, as a parent, all I did was bring a cake! Talk about easy for me! No decorations were needed as the farm is beautiful. The pictures that we took are precious. There was another party before and after ours and we/they were kept out of the area so the birthday child could enjoy their time. (a real plus for me because the children in the party after us looked kind of rough and were a lot bigger than my 4 year old.) Also, the party price was very affortable.

I will definitely go back with my younger children for future parties.

Well the place is nice. Party is WAY too rushed and the lady is RUDE not only to the adults but the children as well. I would not have a party here. Also, if you arrive early for the party WATCH OUT because you will be CHEWED OUT if you dare get out of the car! I wouldn't recommend this place, I was uncomfortable as a guest there 2X's. The first time she yelled at the kids, the second me for asking to take a picture of my daughter on the horse. Not because it scared the horse but because she won't stop for a sec. to allow a picture. How rude!

I LOVE Sunny Farms

Sunny Farms is great. I love Miss Jane. I have been on several field trips there and have hosted 2 parties there. I plan to have more b'day parties there. Yes, the parties are back to back and Miss Jane does move things along. That said, the children love her - she is so good w/ them. She let the b'day child ""drive"" the tractor on the way back from the hay ride. The kids just love the whole package - petting and feeding the animals, the hay ride/nature hike, the pony rides. And the parents don't have to do a thing. You really don't even need to decorate. I can't say enough good things about the parties there.

rude lady

I was online looking for party ideas for my son & saw Sunny Farms. We attended a party here last year, & the lady was so rude to me & so embarrassed me in front of the others that I was brought to tears. I can see from other reviews that it wasn't personal! I would not have a party here due to the owner's attitude.

This place was amazing! My 4 year old son had the best time of his life there! When we unloaded our things onto the cart and brought it to the pavillion, Mrs. Jane started unloading it for us. She was very precise. I also brought extra plastic animals to place on the table, which she placed. I did nothing! I was able to enjoy my son's cowboy birthday! The children rode horses, I added an extra horse, which I highly recommend. This allows more rides for the children. After, the children feed and petted a llama, goats and a giant rabbit, Cuddles! Next, was the hayride and nature walk. Mrs. Jane was wonderful with the children, everytime she spoke, they listened. I loved the way they made my son feel very special. They made him feel like a real cowboy! Everything revovled around him! We have been to many parties where they don't even aknowledge the birthday child! I, my husband, my son, and guests truely enjoyed our time at the farm! This is by far the best birthday party ever!

Sunny Farms - charming and great party place

I have had several parties at Sunny Farms and my children beg to go back every year. They love all of the kid friendly animals and activities: pony rides, petting goats, a llama, & a giant rabbit; a hay ride, tire swings, a treasure hunt, and their favorite: a scavenger hunt during the nature hike in the woods. I love that Mrs. Jane takes care of EVERYTHING and I actually get to relax & enjoy my child's party. I could tell she is a teacher because of her great rapport with the children. My boys love Mrs. Jane because she always makes them feel special. I highly recommend Sunny Farms.

Kids love it! Parents are put off by how rude the owner is!

1st off, this is a great idea for the kids..something really different. But my 1st bit of advice is to book more time. We weren't through eating cake and unwrapping presents, and the RUDE farm lady was packing us up and moving us out! I had presents in the car that was unopened! All the parents loved the idea of the party, something different, but they also commented on how RUDE the lady was! It truley made me uncomfortable. After spending that much money for a party, that I can just sit and enjoy...I did not. Also, they have a pet cat just roaming around...around the table where our food was put out! gross

That being said, the children really did love the party!

SUNNY FARMS is the best!!!!!

As a mother of two ( 9 yrs. and 3 yrs) I've attended and hosted my share of parties. Each year I feel so exhausted and relieved when the party is finally over, but NOT THIS YEAR.....Sunny Farms and Mrs. Jane were AWESOME!!! Everything, from what to bring, what not to bring, how to dress, unloading supplies from your car to loading them back afterwards and all the events (hayride, pony/horse ride, feeding animals, petting animals, tire and rope swing, cake, presents, etc ) in between were so meticulously organized and STRESS FREE. Mrs. Jane mans a tight ship, but the children and parents had a great time at my son's party. You can tell that Mrs. Jane has been hosting parties at Sunny Farms for a long time, and that she enjoys her work..this is a biggee...SHE ENJOYS WHAT SHE IS DOING, AND IT SHOWS!!!!! She interacts with the children so well. During the hay ride, she told them a story to get them ready for the scavenger hunt in the woods.... so kid friendly, uses teachable moments, and kind. (Even the parents were 'drawn in')

I was able to mingle with the parents, and 'play' with my chid during the party. I was able to get all those 'scrapbook' picture moments and even be is some pictures.... I will definitely return to Sunny Farms.

Urban farm fun

After having attended a birthday party at Sunny Farms, I would have to highly recommend the experience to all my friends and to readers. Where else can you go in B.R., or surrounding areas for that matter, and experience farm fun. There are horse and ponies and goats, oh my! Add a rabbit the size of buffalo and you have quite the petting arena. Not only are there animals, but outdoor activitieslike a nature trail, a good old fashioned tire swing and a large shaded pavillion, complete with rafter fans to chill out under. This is also where the cake cutting and singing take place.

Having spent years on a farm, I don't get the thrill that kids who have never been exposed do, but it brings back fond memories. I recommend a party just so the kids who have never ridden a pony, or been on a hay ride or a hike thru' the woods will at least will have done so once in there lives.

It's not all good tho', it can be habit forming. ;-)

Excellent Party Choice, Sunny Farms

I have known the Sunny Farm Lady for seven years. I have attended parties as a guest and as a paying customer. I find the the farm to be a country wonderland for children. There are rules, however, that are explained and repeated before the party ever begins. The parties are geared for entertainment of the children and for the safety of the children. The operative word here is children. Adults are asked not to smoke and have to follow the same rules the children have to follow. Don't expect the rules to be bent or arrive with the notion that rules apply to everyone else. The rules of safety apply to everyone. The Farm Lady is engaging and extreemly knowlegeable with the children. She has a wide variety of animals and opportunities for the children to engage the animals. You get a horse or pony ride, hay ride and nature hike. You get to feed goats and pet the giant rabbit. It is a ton of stuff you get to do. How cool is that? The parties are two hours and know that there is a party before and after yours. But that isn't a problem. The setting is so adorable that you don't need to add any extra decoration. She even has these giant wheeled carts to haul your stuff. She is not angry or mean. Now, she does not kiss parents behinds so don't think that will ever take place, but she is funny and warm with the kids. She is a school teacher by trade so her organization and class control are an asset to her planning. I have had several parties and a family reunion at Sunny Farms. I am also going back in February to have my daughter's 6th birthday party. My daughter LOVES the Farm Lady and just rode out to the farm to see her baby goats. My boys now 13 and 10 also have had their parties out there. All without any problems. No place is perfect and no establishment is ever going to make all it's clients happy every time but I highly reccomend Sunny Farms to anyone who wants a fun, real farm experience.

charming little farm / abrupt and calous farm lady

Sunny Farms is a charming little farm. Birthday party includes hay ride, nature trail with a fun slide at the end, horse or pony ride, feeding the animals, petting the giant rabbit, play time on the tire swing, and ends with cake and ice cream/ present opening. BEWARE, HOWEVER, OF THE FARM LADY! Her cynical attitude radiates from her. She has a tight schedule to run and damn those three year olds if they do not listen the first time!!! She nearly ripped my three year old daughter's arm off when she stepped into the gated pony area before the other child was off the pony. (I understand the need for safety around the pony, but it was REALLY uncalled for and over the top!! ) Then when it was time for the children to wash their hands, my daughter turned the water off after she washed (that's normally a good thing to remember to turn the water off, right?) NO! The farm lady slapped her hand away and yelled,""Leave it the way it was!!"" OK , All you have to say is,""There is a child behind you. Please leave the water running for him!"" My little girl is three years old and an obedient child at that!!!! This lady has a well organized and really precious party idea going, but she really needs stop with the terrrible attitude! Several moms and dads were discussing this after the party. She seems to not really like children. Anyway, if you can manage to have tough skin and ignore the cynical attitude that radiates from the farm lady... then it's a fun time. Oh, I saw her yell at a mom that wanted to take a picture of her child on the pony. Too late, mom, you should have taken the picture when the pony was walking up. NEXT!!!
The farm is great, but the farm lady needs to hire a couple more people to be her helpers and relax...stop being down right mean to her littlest guests.
