While passing trough town, I needed to stop and have my car checked out when the 'check engine' light came on. Luckily I was able to find Jeff Cobb Auto Works - they were able to help me right away! They sent me on my way in about an hour, and the charge was next to nothing. The light hasn't come back on, and that was about 30 days ago.

As I knew Jeff Cobb I sent my son to have his air conditioner repaired. He charged a high amount and it did not work as soon as he left the lot. Took it back two more times, big mistake, each time they threw more parts at it and charged a lot more money, it never worked. He refused to further deal with it, was very abusive and I finally took it elsewhere and it was repaired first time.
The other shop actually offered to give Jeff a AC compressor at cost if he would repair the car; HE REFUSED!!!!
DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY WITH ANYTHING!!!!!!

Jeff Cobb is a terrible mechanic. He did not fix my car & charged an obscene amount of money. My car actually caught on fire in the parking lot of his shop and he laughed at me and didn't offer any help. He does not treat female customers with respect & is a complete misogynist.

My only experience with Jeff Cobb was not a good one. Jeff is probably one of the most expensive mechanics in town and based on my personal experience, he does stand behind his work. Until recently, I've never brought a car to Jeff because I had always thought his shop looked somewhat cluttered from the road when I would drive by. It's now my opinion that the condition of his shop is a pretty good reflection of his organizational skills.
I took my vehicle to Jeff Cobb Auto Works for the first time and unfortunately it will be my last. In a nutshell, Jeff was unable to repair my vehicle properly yet charged me an astronomical amount of money. Because Jeff was unwilling to address the problem in an economical fashion, I brought my vehicle to another mechanic. The second mechanic not only repaired my vehicle properly but repaired it for less than half what Jeff charged me. My best advise would be not to take your vehicle to Jeff Cobb. However, should you decide to use his services my next best advise would be to get everything in writing before he services your car. Don't let him service your vehicle until both parties have agreed upon a price range and have him explain thoroughly what services he will provide. It has been my experience that Jeff is very disorganized and has a hard time keeping track of agreements.

Jeff's shop is the only place in town if you have an exotic car. He is the only person here I trust to take care of my 2001 Viper GTS.
He is a good person too, witness his charitable activity:
This year event was fantastic, next year will be even better.

My car had transmission problems. I called Jeff Cobb and I told him the model of my car, the year it was made, and that it has a transmission problem. To be specific, I told him that the engine starts but when I put the shift stick on D or (1) or (2), the car doesn?t move. He told me to bring the car to his shop, and I did. I had my car toed to his shop on Acadian Thruway. He was there while my car was being downloaded from the toe truck. He saw the car, the model, and I told him again that it has transmission problems. He told me that he will look at it and I left. He had the car for two days. I called him to see what is going on, and he told me that the car has transmission problems. He also told me that he doesn?t do transmission repair for my type of car and that I need to take my car somewhere else to get it fixed. If you think that the story ends here, then take this. He charged me for the following. He said that he had to push the car to put it on the hydraulic lift. He took a look at the car; he put a couple of oil quads in the car that I didn?t ask for. He lowered the car form the hydraulic lift and pushed it back to its parking spot (10 feet or so). I had my car toed again to another place to get it fixed.
If he doesn?t do transmission repair for my type of car, then why did he tell me to bring the car to his mechanic shop?
I have never had such an experience in my life before. Maybe what he did is totally legitimate, yet I wanted to share my story with everybody.

Jeff has encyclopedic knowledge of cars no matter how unusual. He diagnoses root cause & fixes the real problem rather than switching out components. He fixes individual components, & has been known to use components, like internal gears, from one make of car to fix another. Dealerships cannot match this service, especially on older classic cars. He can be a bit boring; he talks a lot, and only about cars. The conducted tour takes in Maseratis, Lambourghinis, rare Mercs but also Camrys & Crown Vics. It's a unique place.
