Foxy's Fitness For Women
11550 Old Hammond Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816
Hard to believe there are so many complaints for this location since I have found the exact opposite. I find the gym, and restrooms always clean and organized. I can't believe what I am getting for my money. If I feel like working out on Sundays, I can always go to another location. The equipment is modern and the gym offers a variety of classes. This location gives you the best bang for your buck. Have recommended and will continue to recommend this gym.
I'm not usually one to leave comments like this, as they usually never lead to anything productive, but I thought it appropriate to share this information with anyone looking to strike up a contract. If you're in the middle of a contract, and you lose your job, Foxy's Fitness will not cancel the contract. I find this to be completely tasteless and unmerciful. I'm expected to put the 43 dollars towards a gym I go to occasionally, rather than towards food/gas for job searching etc. This is the primary reason I am not renewing. The staff is pretty good to their people, but the inability of their contract organization to understand survival vs. pleasure circumstances is completely unacceptable.
I was a member in 08 and had no issues at all. The gym was clean and a great place to work out, swim and lay out. I became a member again 2011 and it's just disgusting. Never clean. The hot tub smelled so gross every time I tried going in it....went in once and never again cause it was so disgusting. The chics that work there are NEVER AROUND. I went so many times without scanning my thingy. It's such a waste of $55 a month. My friend was even able to get out of her CONTRACT after writing a letter complaining on the unsanitary conditions. Such a dissappointment. That place has so much potential. Don't even waste your time with this place.

First of all...this place doesn't even deserve 1 star, but it made me select one....I was a member in 08 and had no issues at all. The gym was clean and a great place to work out, swim and lay out. I have been a member of Foxy's for over 12 years. Even though their facilities leave much to be desired, I've continued going due to the fact that I enjoy the ""women only"" location. Recently, I have fallen on difficult financial times (I am even behind on my mortgage at this point). I fell behind on my payments and the management wanted me to buy out my contract for $600. I explained I did not have that, could any other arrangements be made. The answer was ""no"". I was going to have to have it put on my credit report BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY! When my dad found out, he offered to loan me $300 to settle with them (this amount would have paid all past due months). When I called Foxy's to see if they would accept this CASH lump sum, explaining my situation, they said, ""ABSOLUTELY NOT"". When asked if customer loyalty,(as a customer for over 12 years), meant anything to FOXY's, I was told ""no"" That's fine if that is how they want to run their business and treat loyal customers, but their business philosophy is one-sided. The facilities at the co-ed club are really unacceptable (ladies locker room, pool area). The club is in desparate need of a renovation, but it appears they only want to take the members money, and not put any of it back into the facility. Complaints on conditions fall on deaf ears. There are too many other gyms in town to choose this one. As soon as my financial situation improves, I will be joining the Woman's Health Center on Blubonnet. I have heard the facility is incredible AND the management VALUES their customer's patronage.

This location has poor management to say the least. A new eldery member who just joined to be able to do water aerobics for health reasons. The management took her money but neglected to tell her that the pool's heater had been broken for over 2 weeks now and no definite date for repair to be done. The heater goes out at least once per year and classes can't be held. Also, there's no regular maintenance so cleaning is not ongoing. The umbrellas and cover by the pool have been broken for a year and not replaced, Some of the lounge chairs are broken and they all need cleaning. The instructors are great and very friendly in all classes I've taken including water aerobics, yoga, zumba and body pump. The gym equipment is ok, there's a small walking track around some of the equipment. There's a new nail salon (high-priced). The best cleaning lady they ever had got let go and the club hasn't been cleaned so well since. If this location wasn't so close to home and if not for the fantastic friends I've made here, I would go elsewhere. So not the best, but not all bad either. :)

The gym is great...never had a problem with the staff or anything....but of course everything is NEVER perfect!!! My husband received a job transfer in another state. I called 6 months in advance to find out what I would need to do to cancel. After the run a round a few times, I sent a copy of a lease and utility bills with my name on all of it. The first lady said that would be fine. Then, I get a letter saying proof of work. I am a stay at home mom and full-time student. The lady tells me: ""O, well if your a stay at home mom then you cannot cancel"". I'm sure a discrimination lawsuit can be filled and I will be looking into it. I would not recommend signing anything.. Go to Gold's...they do month to month and the daycare is FREE!!
I've been a member of 5 differen't gyms... not one of them greeted me by name like Foxys does. They know my children.. they are helpful when I have questions... and not to mention their training programs ROCK YOUR BODY! I don't see where ANYONE could get the idea that Foxys has bad customer service. Don't pay your bill and you write a bad review on the bill collector? Hmmmm...how silly. Customer service is promised everywhere but none deliver like FOXYS DELIVERS!

My experience at Foxys has been an adventure. I started out scared to step foot into a gym.... I was new to working out and never knew how to use any kind of equipment .. all I knew is I wanted my life back and I NEEDED to lose that weight. They have so many options and they actually put me with someone to help me figure out what exactly I needed. I'm so greatful to Foxys because I now feel like they are my second home and my friends. The weight is coming off and everything in my life seems to be falling into place. They are friendly , they greet me by name, they answer my questions when I have them,I feel comtorable with jsut women, I trust their nursery workers to watch my 3 year old because the workers have been there over 20 years!.. and without them who knows where I woud be? I would recommend Foxys to everyone. Check out your options and make sure that you include Foxys or you'll be missin out!

I have been at Foxy's for Women for years. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. They know my name and my son's name. He loves the nursery (he's almost 2). I got alot of help from the trainers when I was trying to lose the baby weight. I have gotten stronger and toned; I love the new me. Foxy's is always adding new programs or classes. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Thanks to all the posters who reviewed this health club and have saved me a lot of money and endless amounts of grief by the sound of things. I was moments away from joining Foxy's, which happens to be just down the street from where I live, but now I think I'll just keep on shopping around. I'm a firm believer in customer service and it sounds like Foxy's could care less, so I'll just keep my money and save myself needless headaches. Gee - I've improved my health already!

I got a membership w/Foxy's 1 1/2 years ago at the end of the year. I started off strong and stayed strong for the majority of my membership. My membership was suppose to expire in December but money was still coming out. When I called & questioned this, I was told when I signed my kids in for the summer program, my contract was renewed and would not expire until June of this year. I was so furious because no one explained this to me at the time. I have moved back to New Orleans since, but still in my contract. I am living w/my parents & have no job yet so since I have no ""proof"" of no longer living in BR, they will not cancel my contract. I was told once I provided them with a signed lease and professional letter from my job, if I can find one, then they would cancel it. So, they are steadily taken the fees out of my account each month and will continue through June unless I can provide the necessary materials. I will never sign with a contract anymore!! I will look for the places with ""no contract required"" from now on. Oh, & thanks for the input on family owned. I never noticed that.

This is the worse gym to join town. There customer services left a lot to be desired. When you had an issue or a problem they gave you the run around. I relocated to another city and they would not let me cancel my service. They lady was very rude and had the worst attuitde. She needed to go back and relearn how to treat clients. Everyone always remembers when you have bad customer service and tells everyone about it. And that's what I'm doing telling the eveeryone. If you are looking for a gym in Baton Rouge DO NOT GO FOXY'S!!!!!!!!
